Open Water
Open Water
A soft study of sea and sky in pale coastal blues and greens. Minimal, airy, and inspired by the calm of an open horizon.
Part of the Coastal Studies Collection, this original watercolor captures the softened colors, layered grasses, distant water, and quiet atmosphere of the coast.
Painted loosely and intuitively, transparent washes of watercolor overlap and settle into the natural texture of 100% cotton paper. Rather than documenting every detail, the painting holds onto the feeling of the landscape—the distant horizon, open air, weathered earth, and shifting color found along the water's edge.
At just 2.5" × 3", each Coastal Study is intentionally intimate: a tiny original artwork made for a bookshelf, desk, bedside table, or unexpected little corner.
And perhaps most importantly, they're made for giving.
A miniature painting can become a small gesture of thanks, encouragement, celebration, friendship, or simply thinking of you—something more lasting than a card while still feeling wonderfully easy to give.
